Explore Waterfalls and Spirit Bears on a Unique Alaska Cruise with Holland America

    Published on

Holland America Line is known for its amazing Alaska cruises, but they’re now offering something a little different—an exciting new journey through less-traveled waters.

Their 18-Day Great Bear Rainforest and Alaska Explorer cruise will take passengers through the historic Inside Passage, leaving from Vancouver, Canada, in 2026. This route is special because it’s a rare path that ships have been using to get to Alaska since the gold rush days, and it’s usually only seen at night. But this cruise gives you two full days of scenic views through fjord-like waters, so you’ll have plenty of time to take in the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife.

“We’re thrilled to offer this unique opportunity,” said Paul Grigsby, Vice President of Deployment and Revenue Planning for Holland America. “Guests will have the chance to see incredible natural beauty and wildlife, including whales and spirit bears—rare black bears with white or cream-colored fur.”

The trip kicks off on September 16, 2026, from Vancouver on the Zaandam ship, which can hold 1,432 guests. The cruise will start with some stunning scenic cruising through places like Seymour Narrows and the Grenville Channel. Along the way, you might spot waterfalls, wildlife, and even spirit bears.

The itinerary also includes visits to eight Alaskan ports, such as Sitka, Anchorage (where the ship will stay overnight), and Juneau. Passengers can enjoy activities like bear watching, nature walks, golf, and marine life cruises. Plus, there will be stops at famous glaciers, including Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay National Park.

So, how much does all this adventure cost? The cruise starts at $3,029 per person, which includes accommodations, meals, live entertainment, and more.

If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable Alaskan cruise, this might just be the perfect trip for you!
